Actor Priyamani reacts to people calling Article 370 ‘propaganda’, also shares the “main reason” on why she did the film. Speaking to News18, she mentioned that initially, she was “one of the ignorant ones” because she did not fully understand the impact of Article 370.
Priyamani on those who label Article 370 as ‘propaganda’ expressed, “Some people are going to say, ‘Oh, this is raising awareness. People need to know these stories.’ And then, there’s always going to be a section that will say, ‘This is absolutely propaganda.’ When we took on this film or when we decided that we wanted to be a part of this film, I think the prime agenda was that we wanted to tell people, ‘Listen, there’s something like this which has gone down in history and people are unaware of it. I’m sure people knew about it but they didn’t know what people went through, what steps were taken to ensure that this mission was a success.”
Why Priyamani called herself ‘very insensitive’
Priyamani also admitted that she was initially unaware of the depth and significance of the mission, describing herself as “the ignorant one” and “very insensitive.” She did not grasp the seriousness of the situation earlier, acknowledging, “Okay, fine, the article was abrogated,” but she did not comprehend its gravity. “Yes, today I do,” she concluded.
