Spearheaded by the Sanyukt Kisan Morcha (Non-Political) and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha (KMM), the upcoming protest calls upon farmers nationwide to converge on Delhi on March 6, marking a resurgence in their demands. The decision to revive the protest movement and abstain from utilizing tractors was deliberated upon during the ‘antim ardas’ ceremony held in remembrance of farmer Shubhkaran Singh, who tragically lost his life in clashes with Haryana Police at the Khanauri border on February 21. Representatives from various constituents of SKM (NP) participated in the ceremony, underscoring the unity and resolve within the farmer community.
According to KMM convener Sarvan Singh Pandher, the protest will maintain its presence at both the Punjab-Haryana border sites, namely Khanauri and Shambhu. Additionally, organizations affiliated with SKM (NP) and KMM will converge at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on March 6, utilizing vehicles other than tractors to express their dissent.
